Tips for visiting the KIT Career Fair

This year's KIT Career Fair differs from the classic fairs you know - no fixed company booths, no hall feeling. Instead, there is plenty of room for everything that has been neglected in recent years: for personal meetings and relaxed exchanges.

With these tips, we'll show you how to find suitable companies on the exhibition grounds and get into conversation.

Create or update your student profile
Don't have a profile in the Career Service portal yet? Now is the perfect time to create one. Log in with your KIT account and create your resume. All companies participating in the 2023 fair will have access to the profiles in advance. So they can contact you and arrange a meeting at the fair. Even after the trade fair, you will still be able to be found.
Have you already created a profile a long time ago? Check now whether the details are still correct or upload current references and certificates.
Look through the list of companies
It's best to take your time and look through the list of companies before your visit to the trade fair. You will also find a trade fair profile for each company in the Career Service portal with the fields of study you are looking for and open positions.
Participate in the warm-up
The Career Service & Alumni team will prepare you for the fair and your career with workshops and training sessions. Register now and secure your place - you will find all offers in the warm-up overview.
Pick up your specialization ribbon
At the check-in or at the individual pavilions you will receive a festival ribbon in the color of your department. This way you will be quickly "recognized" by companies that match you and get in touch more easily.
This is the color distribution:
Blue pavilion: computer science, mathematics and physics
KIT faculties: Computer science, mathematics, physics
Purple pavilion: Economy and Society
KIT Faculties: Industrial engineering, business informatics, humanities and social sciences
Red Pavilion: Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
KIT Faculties: Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering
Orange Pavilion: Biology, Chemistry and Process Engineering
KIT Faculties: Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering, Chemical and Biological Sciences
Yellow Pavilion: Natural and Built Environment
KIT Faculties: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Check overview boards in the subject pavilion
Instead of having to tediously check out booth after booth, you will be shown at a glance in each pavilion who is looking for whom here. You can use the QR code to check the trade fair profiles in the Career Service portal, find contact details if you have missed a contact person, or leave a message yourself.
Contact guides at the trade pavilion
The new trade fair concept calls for initiative and a desire to make contacts. If you don't really know how to get started yet, our trade fair guides are there for you! They are ready and waiting at each pavilion, recognizable by their Career Service shirts. They will help you find a specific person or get you talking to someone if you can't think of a way to get started yourself.
Attend the trade fair program
The accompanying program also gives you the opportunity to get in touch with the companies: At the lectures , you can gain insights into special topics - and afterwards, there is room for questions to the experts present. In this way, you can talk directly about a topic that interests you.
Different professions will be presented at the Sofa Talks in the specialization pavilions. Former KIT employees tell you how they got their current job and answer your questions in a relaxed atmosphere.
The company videos also provide insights into the corporate culture and the everyday working life of individual companies. You can watch them at your leisure in the Audimax foyer and gain an initial overview.
Of course, the Career Service & Alumni team will also be on hand to offeradvice on applications and interviews.

Do you still have questions? Our FAQ will help you - and if not, please send us an email to karrieremesse∂kit.edu. We will be there for you at the check-in on the days of the fair.
